The Writing Master

The Writing Master is to help teach children how to write chinese characters and do the proper strokes. It helps them make less mistakes and as well as write faster. The rules of the game are simple and that are that there are 4 levels in the game. For the first 2 levels, you are given 30 seconds to complete the character shown, for each mistake you have half the time, so after making 1 mistake you are now given 15 seconds from the original 30 seconds. For the next 2 levels you are given 40 seconds and for each mistake you have 10 seconds less, so after 1 mistake you have 30 seconds from the original 40 seconds. The levels get harder as you progress. The first 2 so you the direction of the strokes but for the last 2 you will no longer be shown the direction and order of the strokes but have to remember from the rules that follow writing chinese characters. The goal of the game is to best your own time for each character and total time as well, and to get less mistakes as you get faster.

We used cardboard as the back and for the stand as well to make it stable. A sheet of plastic was used for the cover so we could write on it with white board markers and have it easy to erase. The plastic was attached the cardboard with black tape as well as the stand pieces being attached the back base. We printed the characters onto a piece of A4 paper with the chinese word written in english alphabet and also the translation into english.
